About me

My name is Greg Fay and I am working toward my Masters of Arts in Teaching.  This is my first time using a blog and I'm trying to get the hang of it.

Senior Day
I graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2008 with a BA in sociology. In my time at Tennessee I was proud member of the Pride of the Southland Marching Band. During my time in the band just a few of the many things I had an opportunity to do included: two Presidential inaugurations, the St. Patrick's day parade in Dublin, Ireland, and cutting down a piece of the Lady Vols 2008 national championship net. In short, the band was the experience of a lifetime. If you have never had a chance to see the band here are links to Circle Drill (one of the "Pride's" signature traditions) and Pregame.

Austin Lake
For the past four years, I have been a seasonal employee at the Clyde Austin 4-H Center, located in Greene County. The 4-H Center has been a fantastic place to work, and showed me how much I enjoy working with kids. I am currently a part-time employee with the Center's Camp Explore program. Camp Explore is an environmental science program for school groups. The program is based on the TN State science standards and works to present science to students in a fun and engaging manner. Whenever you all have classrooms of your own, I would encourage you to plan a field trip with Camp Explore. It is an educational, fun trip students will talk about for a long time. I love being a part of Camp Explore and getting to teach kids in such a fun environment. There are days I can't believe I get paid to do it.

I am really looking forward to this class and finding out about more great uses for technology.
